How to fix overheating laptop without taking it apart?

The cooling mechanism of CPU is the difficulty for most of manufacturers of the computer and laptop industry. In their view, they face a tough enclosure while designing the laptop or computer and selecting the best CPU suitable for the model number.

In this article, I will be guiding you how to fix overheating laptops taking it apart.

The most applicable one is the one best suited for buyers and his/her functional requirements. The component of laptop that is responsible for cooling up the computer is the fan and some of the metallic conductors made of aluminum and copper (not good heat conductors) known as the heat sink.

Cooling Mechanism of Laptops

The CPU of computer is directly connected with the metal heat sink (aluminum and copper) through compounds or thermal grease. The grease directly conducts heat, not electricity through computer. The important tripling done by the manufacturers is to get rid of heat as much as possible through fan and heat sink method which the CPU allow.

Vents are the major (purpose-built) components which will allow the fan to suck in the cool air from the bottom of the laptop, force the cool air to flow above or beneath the heat sink and through its sides and is rear for cooling the CPU.

Copper is the conducting metal liquid pumped in the system and radiators with exhaust ports which is normally used in the vehicles. To get rid to heat it directly signify to make the system to run faster.

Rationale

The major problem that exists over the period, and other particles which block the vent fan and exhaust ports for the radiator. It is for the system which inhibit the air flow and it’s cooling. It relatively fixed in blowing out the vents and brushes for earbuds having Q-tips in cleaning the dust and fans with air. There are also some hidden problems which occurs when the laptop heats up or overheat.

They try to dry the thermal compounds in conducting the heat which cause the system to heats up more rapidly. Lots of CPU version comes with their built-in cooling mechanism which works on protection for this overheating of the laptops.

The problem of this overheating or computers can be solved by cleaning out debris and grease. Replace the heat sink and combine everything. Dust is the reason which cause several disturbance in the functioning of laptop and computers. It becomes hang and sluggish and sometime switch off without any particular reason. This is the reason which create lots of lost files and corrupt email file.

Most of the time CPU is protected due to their internal assembly.

The overheating causes the stepping down in operating speed which is executed bit by bit in the last switch off.

Laptop gradually slow down and then switch off without any particular reason.

Overheating in the laptop and computer causes severe problem to the laptop and computers.

Step-1:

Prepare for the process

Always takes the backup of data files as it is unlikely that something can go wrong, but it is an essential step for preparing yourself and your system in this kind of situations. Through this, you’ll be able to restore your data and application in order. Do test the data files to ensure that these backup up in correct manner.

Make sure that the backup data is placed on the secondary storage and is not linked with the current or primary hard drive of your laptop.

To prepare area for work which is dry and clean and has enough space. Always use a dry towel or some soft cloth for protection because it is laying on screen for most of the time throughout the procedure. The entire process might take 20 mint.

Step-II:

Gather the tools

  1. The tools which break up the screws in getting lost. The cap of the deodorant works well in distinct causes.
  2. You will be needing thermal grease.
  3. You can get it from any hardware shop or local store.
  4. Earbuds or cotton swabs are required.
  5. Thermal grease scrapper is required.
  6. Brush to dust of debris.
  7. You will be needing screwdrivers which are suitable for the screw sizes on the back of the specific laptop.

Optional

  1. Earth straps and grounding wires are required.
  2. Rubber gloves.
  3. Few alcohol wipes.

Note: overall 20-40 mint will be required for the process. It is a considerable saving and make you safe from replacing the laptop itself.

Step-III:

Remove Back Cover & Battery

  • After backing up all the relevant data files and further shut down the laptop. Unplug your power source before removal of battery.
  • The battery releasing mathod is dependent on the model number of your laptop.
  • Clean all relevant parts of your laptop.
  • Clean dirt from fan and remove it and process along the RAM of your device.

Dust out the Cooling unit Through Vents

Use the hair dryer to take the dust out of the motherboard and related components through vents. Clean all the dust anywhere it is collected. With the help of earbuds clean the fan blades. Hold the fan and blow down all the hairs that are stacked in it. Use the brush to take out the dust from everything and blow it with air one last time.

Conclusion

There are so many other ways that can be used to prevent you laptop or computer from overheating.  The problem of overheating is severe thing, and it can damage the internal components of your laptop. It is a universal saying that prevention is better than cure. A laptop can be easily prevented from significant loss rather than leading it to replacement.

Make sure to always use your laptop on the hard and flat surface. Clothes and blankets usually block the ventilation of laptop and it reduces the airflow. Reduction of heat directly increases the performance rate of CPU. It often raises the laptop and has fans which forces the air to flow through bottom. Always test the temperature from different parts of CPU.

Alcohol wipes are best for removing thermal grease. The grease is dried stuff and needs to clean with a dry cloth or blowing air. Air vents can be cleaned by using a brush and hair dryer. It helps a lot in preventing the overheating of components.
